How to Keep Gloss Black Styling Parts Looking New
Share
Gloss black is the finish that makes styling parts pop — and the one that shows lazy washing fastest. The good news: keeping VTEN parts looking freshly fitted takes habits, not products. Here are the five that matter.
1. Wash with two buckets and a clean mitt
Swirl marks come from dragging grit across the surface. Use one bucket for shampoo, one for rinsing the mitt, and wash your gloss black parts first, while the mitt is cleanest — not last, after it's picked up grit from the wheels and sills.
2. Never dry-wipe
Dust plus a dry cloth is sandpaper in slow motion. If the part is dusty between washes, use a quick detailer spray as lubrication, or leave it until wash day.
3. Protect the surface
A coat of sealant or ceramic spray twice a year makes gloss black noticeably easier to keep clean — water sheets off, and road grime wipes away without pressure. Any product safe for painted plastic bumpers is safe for VTEN's ABS and PP parts.
4. Watch the low points
Front lips and side skirts live in the stone-strike zone. Our PP parts flex rather than crack, and light scuffs on gloss black usually polish out with a standard finishing polish by hand — no machine needed.
5. Mind the pressure washer
Pressure washers are fine at a sensible distance (30cm+), but avoid blasting directly at part edges and fixing points at close range.
That's it — five habits, five extra minutes per wash. Every VTEN part arrives finished in gloss (or matte) black with no painting needed, and is covered by our 1-year warranty. Browse the range for your car in the BMW, Tesla and Mercedes collections.
